Dan McKie manages to defy the cliché of genres by producing across the board, be it a underground techno, tech house monster to a peak time commercial dance chart track.
He continues to remix the likes of The Whip, Stonebridge, Rogue Elements, Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Lady GaGa, Carme Electra, Colton Ford, The Ones. As well as remixing he also releases on such labels as Southern Fried, Stoney Boy, Joia, Positiva, Warner Bros, Sony, Universal, Columbia, Gusto, EMI, Newstate, RCA/BMG, Simply Recordings, Slip & Slide, as well as his own imprints 1980 Recordings & HotFridge Records.
He currently has collaborations with Roger Sanchez, D.O.N.S., Luca Lento and more in the pipeline.
Dan is a signed artist to Pacha Recordings (Ibiza), which has seen him release several tracks and remix as well as him mixing several Pacha compilations for the worldwide market. Because of his constant work and affiliation Dan has now become an official Pacha Recordings (Ibiza) worldwide tour resident.
Dan runs his own successful record label 1980 Recordings, which has seen releases from the who’s who of the electronic music world. In April 2009 Dan McKie took 1980 Recordings into the clubs with his uber cool label night, Fish Don’t Dance, which he continues to tour around the globe. In January 2013 1980 Recordings saw its 100th release hit the stores.
Dan held a monthly residency at Hush, San Antonio in the summer of 2011, plus he performed a live interview + guest mix from the mighty Cafe Mambo, Ibiza. Dan is also a UK ambassador for HIV/AIDS charity, Dance4Life and is now affiliated with hardware/software companies such as Apogee, Fabfilter, UAD & Apogee.
2013 sees Dan relocate to Ibiza. This has seen him become the Official House Music Ibiza Resident for the Club Culture Show with Neil Moore on BFBS radio recorded live from the famous Cafe Mambo Studios.
Dan McKie is an eccentric, approachable and talented producer who manages to share his passion for electronica on the dance floor and in the ears of the iPod listener with his unique/energetic blend of genre defying DJ sets.
With 26,970 plus fans on Facebook (they can't all be wrong), he is also Fatboy Slim approved with tracks and remixes on Southern Fried plus various FBS compilations (most notably the mixmag cover mount cd)
